Grade 12 Earth and Space science is an expansive course touching on advanced astronomy, geology and paleontology and one offered in few schools. Danforth students are very fortunate to have the opportunity to take it.
Course material covers many areas in which students have an interest: how the universe began and how it will end, black holes, how earthquakes and volcanoes occur, and mass extinction and evolution.
One of our enrichment activities is in producing videos for the Ontario Mining Association’s So You Think You Know Mining video contest. The contest focusses on the importance of mining to Ontario’s economy and well being and a number of our students have won awards.
